SuSu brings the style to the vibrant village of Welwyn. Nestling in amongst the independent gift shop and variety of eateries it has built up a reputation both locally and further afield for stylish and reasonably priced clothes and accessories for women of all ages. Unusually for most boutiques SUSU doesn’t sell designer clothing. However the highly individual brands are carefully selected and the turnaround so quick you can feel safe in the knowledge that you won’t find the same clothes everywhere.
‘SB’ The Boss and all round style guru
Susan started the business ten years ago. Her impressive fashion career spans over thirty years. During that time she’s worked for Louis Feraud, been a leading Style Consultant with Armani and developed the Personal Shopping & Fashion Advisory service nationally across the John Lewis Partnership. But perhaps what she’s most renowned for is her ‘column and curve’ body shape philosophy. Susan firmly believes that looking good is all about wearing the right clothes to suit your individual body shape.
Likes simple elegance, bluebell filled woods, dappled sunlight, old films, painting in watercolour, red wine, Ibiza
Dislikes violence, poor timekeeping, getting petrol, washing up the grill pan, sloppiness, doing housework, technology
The other members of the small and friendly SUSU team are Val, Marie, Sue, Celia, Pam and Karen. All share Susan’s body shape ethos and approach to customer service. The girls like nothing more than helping put together an outfit but equally know when someone would rather be left alone to browse or maybe just need a second opinion. Val and Marie have both worked for major high street retailers. They have been with the business since it opened and now count a lot of the regular customers as friends. Both love fashion and never find unpacking a delivery a chore!
